Besser

The village of Besser is probably the longest village on the island. There is a very cozy village environment, and picnic tables/benches are available at the good spot by the pond: Pederspladsen with a playground. In addition, there is the cafe Søster Sidevind, which is open all year round. The town has several other shops as well as a large assembly hall.

A popular destination is the 5 km long Besser Reef with its rich birdlife. Here you can often find amber or a fossilized sea urchin. From July 15, you can walk the entire trip past the hill Hønsepold and all the way to the tip of the reef, where the fortifications were during the English wars.

Near Besser is the island's golf course, where hole number 8 has been voted Denmark's most beautiful. However, it is probably the view from there and not the hole itself!
